2013 Scholastic Superstar, Aliza Furneaux
Congratulations to Lackawanna Trail Senior, Aliza Furneaux, selected as one of the Scranton Times-Tribune Scholastic Superstars for 2013. Aliza joins twenty-five area students to receive this honor. Aliza was honored at a formal reception on Wednesday, April 17th at the Scranton Time Building. Read about Aliza's accomplishment in the Scranton Times.

Weather Make-Up Days
Due to weather cancellations during the school year, June 5, 2013 will be the last student day. June 4th, and June 5th will be utilized as make-up days.

Emergency School Closings
In the event of inclement weather or other emergency, the schools may be closed, students may be dismissed early, or the start of school may be delayed. Announcements regarding the above events will be made as early as possible on several local radio and television stations. Information on delays or closings/event cancellations will also be available on the school district website.

Advertise With Lackawanna Trail!
The Lackawanna Trail School District is currently seeking applications for local businesses to advertise with us in our high school gym. If you apply and are approved prior to June 1, 2013, the $100 fee will cover the remainder of this year and all of next year! Interested applicants can also get a hard copy of this application from the district offices. Please call the superintendent’s office for additional details at 570-945-5184. Pennsylvania Standards
Standards in Pennsylvania are changing from the PA State Standards to the Common Core. Full implementation is required by July 1, 2013. A school "hot-line" has been installed and placed into operation. Residents may obtain updated information on a 24 hour-a-day basis by dialing (570) 945-5186.
